The news of the Yue Yue, the chinese toddler in hit and run case has shocked the World & has raised concern over the state of Humanity in our so called "Modern World". When I first saw the video I couldn't believe how people can be so apathetic about it.
How could you turn a Blind eye to a two year old child bleeding on the road?
How could you be Deaf, to not hear the child's agony?
How could you be Mute, to not call for help?
Was it because she wasn't a family member or friend?
It started with the first driver knocking her down, pausing the van & then driving it away running her over with its back wheel. Yangcheng Evening News quoted the man who first struck Yue Yue as saying, "If it was you who hit someone, you'd run too. You can see the little girl, looking around when she walked. If she walked properly, how could I hit her?"
What I would like to ask him is "How could you be such an a**hole and run over the girl again? If the first time you hit her was a mistake then accelerating the van and crushing the two year old child again wasn't running away, it was attempt to Murder?"
I find it hard to believe that this unapologetic piece of sh*t who wasn't able to pull the brakes was expecting a two year old kid to follow Road Rules, UNBELIEVABLE.
What happens next is three people walking by ignoring the child, and then the truck driving over the child's leg. This is followed by a dozen people passing by and not one helping the child. All this while the child is lying on the ground bleeding to death. Finally help arrives in the form of an Angel cloaked in rags who moves the child to side of the road and then looks for help. The mother of Yue Yue then arrives to take her daughter away.
The apathetic behavior shown by individual's who ignored this child is regretful. To say that we live in the 21st century and not one of the 18 individual helping the child but a trash collector who is said to be uneducated & among the lowest level of our society. I salute Chen Xianmei, the trash collector for showing us that humanity still exist.
The reason for not helping the child seems fear of getting blamed for the accident & having to pay the compensation. I strongly believe that this cannot be taken as a reason to lose ones humanity. As of now Yue Yue has been declared to be brain dead. My Prayers goes to Yue Yue & her Family at this time of difficulty.
I haven't embedded the video on this post since it was very disturbing and hurtful. The video can be easily found at Youtube. I usually do not post on non technical articles but this was different, i had to express my anger & sorrow at this incident.
Yue Yue died on October 21 2011 from her injuries. May her soul rest in peace.

How could this 18 people seeing the little girl, in a critical condition just looking at her and not helping the little child? I dont know what to say, because of anger and sadness to a little angel girl. If they help the little poor child I know that she still alive, and if they help that little kid, she will never be hit again.
